As part of its continued growth, McClure Engineering Co. (MEC), an Iowa-based civil and structural engineering firm, announces that Ben Erschen has joined the company’s St. Louis, Missouri office.

Erschen joins the MEC team as a Project Manager for the structures division. He is a key hire with his decade plus of experience in bridges – a new discipline that MEC is now able to offer to clients.

“Ben is a strategic addition to our structures group as we will immediately be competitive for all types and sizes of bridges for our municipal, county, and DOT clients. He will lead our bridge design and inspection efforts, as well as work to grow our bridge business serving our key clients across the Midwest,” said Paul Trombino III, President.

Erschen’s experience includes 11 of his 13 years working for Jacobs Engineering Co. as a Bridge Engineer and Project Manager. His expertise includes Locks & Dams, Flood Control Structures, and steel and concrete bridges for Municipalities, Counties and numerous Departments of Transportation. He brings leadership experience for short and medium span bridges, plate girder design, curved tub girder design, precast prestressed concrete girder design, and concrete substructure design. He has his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering and is a PE in Missouri and a SE in Illinois.
