CLIVE, Iowa, June 8, 2018 – McClure Engineering Company congratulates Mike Benham (Clive, IA), Andy Maurer (Clive, IA), Josh Garton (Columbia, MO), Dan Weidmeier (Fort Dodge, IA), and Michael Cunningham (Lenexa, KS) on passing the Professional Engineering (PE) exam to become licensed Professional Engineers.

Mike Benham came to MEC with several years of experience in a broad range of engineering fields. In the 3+ years since joining MEC, he has focused primarily on water and wastewater engineering and design. He has said that this focus has given him, “the experience and practice to develop the working knowledge necessary to obtain this certification.” He is very proud—and relieved—to have achieved this milestone.

Andy Maurer joined MEC in 2015 as is now an integral part of the Land Development team. “I’m fortunate to work for a company that invests in its people…the support system at MEC is one of a kind. I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead,” said Maurer.

Josh Garton has worked with the Structural team since 2015 after interning for another firm in Columbia. He looks forward to collecting further hands-on knowledge and technical expertise in his position at MEC.

Dan Weidmeier joined the Drainage team in Fort Dodge in 2016 and has repaired and improved farm field drainage systems on the county and district level. The stormwater staff is excited to have another PE on their team and Weidmeier has a great career ahead of him.

Michael Cunningham joined the MEC team as part of the SKW acquisition. He is excited to work with many experienced engineers on MEC’s team and looks forward to using his PE license to work on future projects.

To become a Professional Engineer, an individual must attain a four-year college degree, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, complete four years of professional experience, and pass the PE exam. We congratulate these individuals on this milestone.
