NORTH KANSAS CITY, Missouri, March 16, 2020 – Wes Minder has joined the McClure team as a Project Manager for the transportation team.

In his role, Minder will be helping the transportation team with new pursuits and additional services for Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.

“I decided to join the McClure team because of all the creative people and projects in different places I will be working with,” said Minder. “I am looking forward to sharing some of my Kansas City Missouri experience with other offices and states and seeing how other places solve their infrastructure challenges.”

Prior to joining McClure, Minder spent the last sixteen years at the City of Kansas City Missouri, starting as a project manager and working his way up to be the City’s Innovation Engineer – serving as the consultant to the city manager, city council, and mayor on a wide range of initiatives ranging from the Smart City implementation and the development and build out of a citywide multi-modal transportation system.

While in this role, Minder worked jointly with MoDOT on large and small projects such as the US 169 interchanges at Tiffany Springs and Shoal Creek Parkway, the I-35 and MO-152 interchange reconstruction, and the I-70/US 169 Buck O’Neil Bridge over the Missouri River – Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study and the environmental assessment for the replacement of the bridge. He also secured federal grants and handled the design and construction of over 20 miles of the Trails KC plan including completing the popular Line Creek Trail which was a joint project between Kansas City, Riverside, and Platte County.

Minder brings to McClure valuable experience in funding development for projects using federal, state, private, and TIF/TDD revenues to leverage local funding. In his career he has completed FHWA/MoDOT Local Public Agency (LPA) environmental clearances and completed plans and specifications development for over twenty federally funded projects.

Minder has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Transportation and Construction Emphasis from University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
